Head of Commercial

We are looking for a candidate who can drive strategic direction to achieve the overall group's hotel & golf revenue. The candidate will ensure that the sales, marketing, distribution & revenue team build an aligned Brand Contribution Strategy & presence in the market, by providing: leadership and coaching, being a role model, building and maintaining positive relationships with key buying influencers, setting and monitoring revenue goals, championing our Brands and Image and linking corporate policy and regional strategy with the teams.


  • Foster an innovative, collaborative environment and channel technical expertise to continually improve existing processes, policies and procedures. Engage fellow departments and stakeholders to effect meaningful change where necessary.
  • Lead the hotels and team to ensure all goals are exceeded. Responsible to drive commercial strategies across the assigned area/territory and maximise all revenue opportunities. Give strategic direction and support need hotels when required.
  • Works directly with the Attana Hotels & Golf leadership team to develop strategies to improve the business results for the region.
  • Will be working with teams at different levels within the company (regional and corporate) and will be working with external partners (hotel owners, franchisees, representatives, suppliers) on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with each level of management so that he/she is able to share information and best practices across the organisation.


  • Must be able to work with very little supervision and must possess the ability to make decisions that could materially affect the financial position of the region or reputation of the Company in the market
  • Minimum diploma/degree and a professional qualification will be considered an added advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years hotel experience with a proven track record
  • Strong business acumen with results orientation to drive key business performance metrics
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organisation, including strong facilitation
